Hi LEDDWCRigger me old chum... what about my airstone? No salt build up,and not crumbling etc what should I look out for?

I was on another site and someone reckos he saw evidence of male parts in 2 pics.... I dunno, I've scoured them and can't see what he's on about...

I had a look in the cab and saw little rugby ball shaped growths that may be interpreted as bollocks, but I reckon its an early female flower.
Here's what I could see:

DSC_0014.JPG
is that a bollock?

DSC_0015.JPG
a slightly closer look

DSC_0016.JPG
there's another one, but this looks like it has pistils coming out of it

I have been using a PK 13-14 product House and Garden's 'Top Booster', and 2 days ago used another, very powerful flowering booster by H&G called Top Shooter.

Top Shooter claims to be able to stimulate another flowering cycle on top of the cycle in progress, it produces explosive growth, and you can see this, big bunches of little white pistils are literally bursting out of swollen pods...

this one looks like it's about to burst

new bunches of flowers bursting out

So to conclude, I think this is not a hermie situation, but instead a bit of stimulated flowering.

BUT IF I AM MISSING SOMETHING, FOR SHIVA'S SAKE PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!!

EDIT

Well he got back to me, and I thought I should show you what I'm talking about... NANNERS not HERMIES

To be honest today's the first day I have ever heard of Nanners. Evidently they are male flowers that appear in the buds late in flowering. All I can see is Daffy...

Is this the nanner

Air stone symptoms are easy to spot. Watch for a diminishing rate of air flow. That's a sign that the stones are starting to get clogged up.

Your plants are looking great. I do not really think you have a pollen sack in the far bottom picture, and the large bulging nodes in your top pic is just a cell differentiation spot at the internode. In a re-veg grow, this would begin creating new growth after you harvested your flowers.

Cheers LEDDWCRigger!

Unfortunately, after a bit of a search today, armed with a bright white light torch so I can see better with the LED and red T5's on, I found some nanners.

No buts about it, have a look...

nanner2..JPG

This one's quite advanced, and I have spotted maybe another 5 and I bet there's more lurking around.... these are all in the more developed buds front right (plant no 2 - which was doing really well... the bitch....)

I may pluck them and see, depends how stoned I get tonight... more stone = more chance of me fannying around trying to pull them out. from what I've heard, they may be sterile, and it's late into flowering, and there's not enough time for seeds to form anyway...

FINGERS CROSSED!!!

Anyway, I have work to do, I received 2 Helios 2 LEDs and I'm gonna have to re-jig my lighting tonight before lights out.

Cheers for watching!

This far into flowering, you don't have much to worry about. Pollination might occur, but it's definitely way too late to form any mature seed. You might get little white seeds, but that's about it.

Go ahead and pinch those suckers off ASAP.

Sorry to put all the sequence up again guy's...........the top two pic in sequence are male staminate, un opened..........all other pics are pistillate........female sex organs !!........

have you found any open ??...was the fan on air blowing circulation Tee ??........was there any 03 emitters in the confine of the cab ??.....

Most feminized strains,......that hermie, and sel pollinate,.........can produce sterile gametes.........of the same genetic line. So true bred pollination occurs,...........this is very difficult to achieve !!.........as the pollen is sparce..............so many plants cannot be pollinated,.........

but if it do occur,...........99% fem seeds are produced,............and if greater than a certain shade of brown leading to full camo green !!,...............90% viable/valuable !!....a new falia 1 (F1 Double Dy-hybrid) tee...true inbred chunk etc.......... ..AB

Day 116
Day 45 flowering

Hi,

First thanks to everyone's contributions last week regarding the nanner situation.

Lots of different viewpoints on a few forums, but this is the conclusion that I have come to....

There are loads of seed companies out there, some not so established. A cheap and easy way that some companies, not all, produce feminised seeds is by self pollination, they then make it their A1 priority to breed out the hermie gene, but this takes time, something newer seed companies don't have. Barneys Farm seeds may have questionable and unstable genetics because of this.

I'm not surprised my girls are showing a little hermaphrodism, the amount of shit I have put them through, but a few isolated male flowers deep within some buds is not gonna ruin my grow. The pollen is usually sterile, so if any seeds are produced, there's a 99% chance of the seeds being female. I have been plucking the odd few nanners, and removed 2 smallish stems that seemed to have 6-7 nanners each in them, probably losing no more than a couple of joints worth of end product. I've kept internal fans to a minimum, and run the ozone generator for 15 mins every hour to mop up any airborne pollen.

If I do get any viable seeds, they'll be worth keeping, with a value at around 9Euros each... a true inbred mono-hybrid cross (I think!) which has been named in advance for me as 'Barneys Tee Time Pineapple Chunk - feminised'. As long as I don't fim them before 35-45 days, they will not show the hermie trait.

Anyway, in oher news, I received 2 Helios 2's (150W each) to add to the Helios 6 (450W) all hanging 10-12 inches above the tops, and I've switched off all but one of the T5s. That's a lot of lighting in there, but I'm running CO2 at 1400ppm, and temps are at 31-32C day and 25C at night, with RH between 35 and 50%.

Last week I ran nutes at EC1.2 with Top shooter at half strength, so tonight I am going to do a 24 hour flush with pH adjusted RO water, before running another week of the same strength and composition of last weeks soup but with (just a tiny bit less than) full strength Top Shooter.

Just 2 weeks left till chop time, things are filling out nicely...
