Day 83.

Just a quick update...

lots of bud sites

DSC_0024.JPG

another flowering stalk also around 5cm high

light is at 24inches
EC 1.0
temps 29C day 24C night
RH 45-65%
Res temp 19C
pH 5.8
CO2 1400ppm reliably

should I keep on tucking the shoots under the net?
Should I keep trimming any larger leaves to let the hidden buds and leaves/shoots get light?
how about light height... should I lower it?
EC is stable, I'm happy with that. maybe go to 1.2 at next change (Sunday)

Cheers for checking on me! All advice appreciated as always!

DAY 87
DAY 26 flowering minus 10 days for scrog = DAY 16 flowering

All is going well, EC 1.0 pH 5.8 19C RH 50-65% temp 25C night 29C day CO2 1400ppm

Helios 6 on full power 18" above canopy.

I removed all T5s except the one at the back, above the canopy. That has a 2400K red tube in.

I'm using H&G nutes - Aqua Flakes A+B, Roots excellurator, Multizen, Amino Extract, plus Bud XL at 1/5ml/L
also using Silicon at 1/6ml/L and Cal-Mag 1/3ml/L) as a buffer
Added Carboload for a bit of nutrition as I've been chopping.

Next week I will stop the Amino Extract altogether, and will do the same with Roots Excellurator and possibly Multizen the week after.
I will graduallly increase Bud XL and Carboload to 1ml/L as flowering progresses.

Here's the latest pics:

You can see no 2 (front right , spreading left) is slightly ahead of no 3 (most of the back). No 1 and 4 are just providing a few bonus tops.

No 2 is doing really well and you can see the results of the training, one stem bent over by 90 degrees heading left, so all the side branches become tops.

Tee...........that is a lot of trim & scrogging work tee. recon you will be out in 65 days or there abouts from here. taking account of the trim scrog delay period. You are just aproaching the half way point, When the flowers are one third to half grown, you will be entering the window where if pressent, and if inherited in this strain, a hermie would show up.

This is due to the stress the plant endures through heavy trimming & scrogging. As you have stressed the plant inclusive of delays, from now on if you can get underneath to look for "Staminate" rugby ball shapped flower on a very short "Stalk"........above the branched internode on each bow.

Should you find one tee,........pinch it off immediately, find them before they open, and pinch out. Dont worry, the barny's is a "Fem" so feminized hermie for the most part, is unviable XX pollen. mainly only capable of turning the Phistils coming out of branched calyx pods "Brown"..........

But be warned, and keep a very keen eye on the bract branches where the staminate appear when a female panics a quick usually small hermie performance. the following have all triggered herms in fem/regs

Fimming around or before sexing around 35 days To early or to late around sexing.
To early an LST strain.
Not enough light.
To higher temps leading to intermittent arid conditions (Not You)
To low temp below 16c lights out
Light leaks into lights out zone.
To higher N during veg
To higher PK during flower.
Low air flow, removing co2 build up.
Numerous types of nute abuse and burn.

it aint happened, it probably wont happen (meaning) rare, but as some factors are in play "Look" closly with a 100mag magnifying glass each day, above and below Tee.........
if it do happen, pinch em off asap before they open,.........take a couple of days to open once apeared on brack site.............pinch em out at this stage and no worries.....just keep em peeled Tee AB

Cheers for the advice AB mate...

I've been scanning them with the eagerness of a Catholic School Choirmaster for little bollocks, but it's tricky seeing at the back because of that damn great big tub. Another goal for individual buckets!

I'm using my handheld digital microscope to get in there and see, but it's hard to keep steady ::::

Yea, and could see how getting eyes on all bracts could be akward...........just keep your eye's peeled as best you can.........it may still be a little early in the flowering stage 16-20 days, hermie tends to occurr around the period, just before pre stretch ends and 3 thirds of the way through bud building bulk etc...............ie when flower are juvinile or just mature then out come the hermie rugby balls staminates....

from when you first micro pre sex em at showing first sex organs. you have aprox ten days before the rugby ball opens and pollen is released.........the female then diverts energy to making shells and not thc or calyxes........as mentioned hermie pollen may not be viable. Any fertilization that might occur, will produce XX x XX fem F1 unstable hybrids. 50/50 geno pheno di-hybrid inheritence outcomes in progeny. AB
