GROLOG - the iPhone app for growers

Postby teetee » Sat Sep 07, 2013 12:49 pm

Hi, Just downloaded Grolog - an iPhone app. There's a few similar apps out there, another one's called Perfect Hydroponics.

Grolog looks pretty good, it has setting parameters allowing you to record upto 12 nutrients and additives (so its useless if your'e running Advanced Nutrition!), and measure everything possible, temps, humidity, lighting etc.
Once the settings are in, running a grow is pretty simple. You can start a new event / day, take a photo, and enter all the details you want.

You then have the possibility to check back through archives, plot graphs, and make reports of your grow.
This app looks nice and clean, whereas 'Perfect Hydroponics' seemed a little too basic and I didn't like the layout.

I'm getting started with a grow soon, so I will update this and let you know how this app helps me, but if you're already growing, why not share your experiences!

Hi

just go on the app store, search Grolog, and it should be a free download. BTW I have nothing to do with this app's development... I'm just a customer.

Once downloaded, its easy to navigate, and you can delete the practice sessions before entering the real McCoy.

Glad you're embracing technology man!

I would be wary of keeping info like that on your phone.

But I'm too lazy for pen and paper, so I keep notes in my desktop computer, and I understand why you'd use an iPhone app!

I understand your wariness. During the initial set up, it assures you that none of your data gets saved or transmitted back to them. I will chack if location services are 'off' in settings, but good point... :?

Well, my concern isn't transmission. My concern (here in the USA) is if you get your phone taken and searched by police/border patrol (which can and does happen.)

Even legitimate medically-licensed patients such as myself would face some very heavy scrutiny, especially if we went past our registered allotment and had evidence of it in our phone.

Hmmm point taken. It doesn't matter where you are, Pigs are bastards. I might just keep the log on an iPad that doesnt leave the house and take it off my phone. You see, these forums ARE good, cos I have just saved myself a bunch of shit from coming my way! :-P
